UNDERSTANDING FAMILY THERAPY

Family therapy is a type of psychotherapy that can help family members improve communication and resolve conflicts and other challenges that any family go through.

 Family therapy may include all family members or just those members of the family that are able and willing to participate on therapy.  treatment plan will depend on your family’s situation of what bring you to therapy.

During family therapy sessions your therapist will work with you to teach you skills and tools that will help strengthening your family unity and how to get through stressful times that can extend throughout your life journey past your therapy period.

Family therapy will not automatically solve family conflicts or make certain unpleasant situation go away for good or quickly. 

What family therapy will do is that it can help you and your family members ability to understand one another better and provide skills to help and other members of the family ability to cope with challenging situations in a more effective way. It may also help the family achieve a sense of togetherness.
